well, here i am, embarking on my first blog. i am not going to worry about the format too much at first, will just write what comes up, however it wants to come up. and for anyone reading, i can’t be bothered with caps so hope it doesn’t annoy too terribly.
anyway, decided to start this blog because i truly believe the practice of gratitude can change the world, beginning with your own. in a world where it is so easy to focus attention and energy on what isn’t working, or what we don’t want, gratitude has a way of instantly redirecting us to the good things in life, and the good feelings and positive experiences that come with that.
i have been practicing gratitude for quite some time and miracles have taken place in my life. i will expound on this as the blog gets going. gratitude makes me feel good and creates a momentum in my life that brings more and more wonderful people, places, things, events, etc… into my experience. it’s so easy, and so rewarding!
so, on the premise that gratitude can change individual worlds as well as the world at large, i will ‘enter the blog’ every day and count my blessings in whatever way suits. some days lists will do, some days paragraphs, some days poetry. i’ll have to wait and see what moves me!
the most important part of this daily effort for me is, that this blog might move you, or just one person to dive into the gratitude project. i hope that something i write will speak to someone else out there and they might start practicing being grateful in a similar way, and thus experience a similar expansion of happiness and abundance.
okay, enough intro! on with the thankfulness… see next post!
p.s.
thank you for reading!!!

hello beautiful muffin.
thank you for your comments! i always wanted to change the spelling of grateful… grate reminds me of cheese! i like the idea of gratitude being about great full-ness. if you get what i mean. really, on this planet, and within us- we have everything we need. it’s all god to me.
it is true that in the beginning of practicing gratitude it feels like trying and we do, indeed, have to make an effort. but like many things, with time, it becomesautomatic until life becomes an effortless dance filled with all the things we have been paying attention to and being thankful for. this is how it works. at least, this has been my experience.
i can appreciate being ‘in a tough spot financially.’ i too, have had my struggles this year. but money is not the only form of abundanc of course. family. love. creativity, beautiful food to eat. all blessings from god, all things that make our life rich. somehow, the more i pay attention to these things and feel the richness of them, the money just shows up. i think when we have struggles in this area, it is only a pointer to us that we have been focusing more on lack than on abundance. then we become like little magnets to what we are focusing on.
the more we, individually and collectively Feel the abundance that already exists around us, and combine this with the faith that we are always provided for… life can be very easy and flowing. last summer, i was struggling very hard against money, and then one day i let it go. i let worries go and just decided to be happy and to believe money was my friend and would come to me at the right time. a few days later, i received an unexpected check for $13,000. this felt like an answered prayer.
i believe we are always heard and we do not have to do it all on our own. i hope all this does not come off preachy! i just mean to share my stories, in case they might inspire you further. keep going! all gratitude is great. one moment a day even, dwelling in the awareness of gratitude, can be life changing or more importantly, life clearing.
thank you again for reading and i appreciate what you have to say.
))))))))))))
peace, blessings and everything wonderful under the sun to you,
kristin
